I'm so scared...

Basic gist... I finished high school at Dyer County High... I lived in Newbern, TN for a few years, and that's where my mom and my sister live... I woke-up from a night of nightmares... Weird enough, about tornadoes... And my phone ringing... I didn't recognize the number, so I let whomever it was leave a voice mail... I go through my ( Read more... )

My family lost people as well. My thoughts, prayers, good vibes, and all positive energy is devoted to those people and that area. And my heart goes out to the family and friends such as yourself who have to sit, helplessly, so many miles away waiting for a phone call to tell them who is still with them, and who is not. *hugs*

i'm sorry, in what town??? i posted up in my latest entry detailed information on where you can help out other people in your family's communities... if you need help with getting more information, i have some pretty good links i can tossed you... i don't know how the news has been there, but it's barely been a blip in the news radar here in LA... i'm having to rely on the internet and the phone calls i can get from family when they can get through... also, on the jackson sun (jackson, tn) website, there is a search forum where people are looking for loved ones... and i happen to know people who work on the fire dept. and police force that can help you search for loved ones...

let me know if there's something i can do to help out...

as of, one hour ago, i got confirmation that my best friend, gina and her husband are both alive... both of which WERE OFF that night... though normally, gina's husband works that night, on that floor, on that shift... three of his co-workers died... like he would have, if he hadn't switched shifts with someone last minute... weird, huh?

but as lucky, as i "may" be because all of my immediate family and closest friends are alive... i'm unlucky that family friends, and ex's, and school mates, and their loved ones, are gone... i personally know 8 of the people who died... and it's devestating to know that the people that lived, are now unemployed with nothing...

please check out my latest entry and if you could help me out by reposting it, i would greatly appreciate it... every little bit counts...

*big hugs back to you*

yeah, unfornately, there are some truly ignorant people who don't understand shit... i remember once talking to this one girl wearing this sweat suit they bought at victoria secret out at a restaurant and she, not knowing my southern heritage or my family background, started slamming on "dumb rednecks"... and i sat there and listened to her... and i said to her, "so tell me, how smart do you think someone must be to make the outfit you're wearing..." "well, i don't know..." "well, could you sew that, or put that together?" "no" "could you run the machines that make that actual material?" "duh, no..." "so you think someone who did that, would actually have to been some what more intelligent than you in some areas?" "okay, good..." "uh, why are you taking that so personal?" "because i worked at the factory in tennessee that made that material then sewed it together of the outfit you are wearing. in fact, i possibly could have made it. i just wanted to know if you thought you were smarter than me ( ... )
