If you read the sources at the bottom of each thing, you'll see a lot of them are actually from fantasy literature. Which is part of why it made me geek out. Cos I liked that.

Also, I think the concept of destruction they used was more like actual structural obliteration than just killing off all life, so global warming and pollution wouldn't make the top ten on that criterion.
