Chicago.
Just that. Chicago. One of my favorite cities. And they're working on one of my least favorite parts: the smell of urine on the stairs to the El platforms. The other night I met a crew sluicing bleach-scented water down the platform and steps. It smelled much better than pee. -

Turtle crossing
So here's what happened: This morning I came to the intersection of Sucker Brook and Oatka and Bacon Roads and saw an object in the road. A largish, lumpish object, not unlike a large dead turtle, except for the fact that it turned and snapped at a passing car. Henry has built a leprechaun trap with a coin, some shiny material, tape, ribbon, and an Eskimo cooler. He laid out his imp-catching plans to me on the drive home from work. Oh? TMI: nasal notes
Almost definitely TMI: Nibbling dinner while talking to Jason, I coughed and felt... "I think I coughed some prosciutto into my nose." Ouch. Confirmed this over the sink. Rather a larger chunk than I'd've thought. Salty, it's true, but not the proper way to salinate my nasal passage.
(At least I didn't eat it.) -
dead wet things
I spent an hour before work photographing wet dead things. Can't seem to stop when I don't have to wear heavy warm clothes to take pictures. Wish the cat would eat her kills, but I'm still glad she kills the little bastards.
