Please tell me the cavalry is coming to the rescue. I hate to see Ryan like this.

How about I tell you that the cavalry is goint to try and rescue Ryan? I can't really promise anything more than that. I'm afraid I'm feeling at least one more evil cliffhanger in me.

I'll confess I had to go in reverse to refresh my memory in order to properly... "enjoy" this, but the re-read was well worth it for becoming submerged anew in the palpable pain, terror, desperation and visceral struggle that a physically and emotionally compromised and traumatized Ryan faces ( ... )

I feel bad having such long spells in between my posts. I know it is hurting the story. Unfortunately, there's just not a lot I can do about it. I am hoping to be just a tiny bit quicker with the next update.

I'll let you in on a little secret. The guard did do something. Sandy had left word with them to let him know if anyone saying they were Ryan Atwood or fitting Ryan's description showed up. So poor Ryan didn't even have to steal the alarm from Art. The guard had already called Sandy. (I'll work that into the story next chapter or possibly even the next)

I'm glad Ryan is coming off as feeling completely alone. That's what I was going for. And yes, I do think Art enjoys torturing him. I'm debating two possible endings to our villain. I want to make sure he gets what he deserves.

Thanks for the insightful comment and for reading.

That wasn't meant as a criticism. Trust me, I know too well about RL. We welcome any update. I was wondering more if I'd lost track of the threads I was trying to keep a fix on ( ... )

The possibilities for Art's ending are plentiful. I can't decide if I want him dead or not. It just seems fitting that he dies. However, I can't let him go too quickly.

Merry Christmas to you! You're really too kind to me. I take entirely too long to update. I'm surprised anyone bothers reading my story.

I'm really hoping to get the next chapter up within a month. It's only one scene, but I do have all of my Christmas presents to wrap yet.

I'm willing to wait for the rest. If only a small scene. ^_^
Hope all your Christmas presents was delivered on time.
Christmas is such a exhausting holiday but it's all worth it.
Have a great day. =D

All presents were delivered on time and I managed to get them all wrapped.

Christmas is worth it. My four year old was so excited. He's at the perfect age for Santa. He wanted to go to bed early so Christmas morning would come quicker, but once he got there he couldn't go to sleep.

Hope you have a great day, too.

Ouch is right. I really should have been nicer to him this holiday season. Oh wait, torturing the poor boy always seems to be our present to each other around here, doesn't it?

*sigh* LJ ate my post when it was all wonky this afternoon. Let me try again.

It took me awhile to screw up the courage to read this. Damn that Art anyway. I hope you have a slow, painful death in store for this bastard. And I hope his last vision is Ryan's face, showing righteous vindication.

And I hope it comes in the next chapter or 2! Seriously - this was so vivid, I just want to wrap the poor woobie in my arms and tell him it will be alright.

In regards to this chapter being vivid, I once again have to extend my thanks to themus. She really gave this chapter the once-over. There was more red type than black when she sent it back to me.

I do want Art to go slow. He so deserves it. I'm debating on who gets to kill him and where.

p.s. don't worry everything will be turn out okay for Ryan. I promise.
