So earlier today, out of the blue I wanted an Arthur/Eames crossover with the Pern universe. OMG. So I looked to see if this had already been written (don't laugh; this is a tremendously prolific and imaginative fandom) and there was this prompt for it, but it's unfilled:

Cobb is a Weyrleader and Mal is his Weyrwoman. Arthur is a wingleader/bronze ( Read more... )

Wow, I'd read the hell out of that. ;)

Also, the Immortal Live of Henrietta Lacks is an really interesting book! Totally recommend it.

Another commenter suggested that Yusuf's brown should fly Ariadne's gold, but I don't know how often a brown would get to a gold, in fact I just was flipping through Dragonquest and Brekke was saying she didn't know that only bronzes could fly golds, so I guess Yusuf could be another bronze. That's fine with me. But maybe in the confusion ensuing over Arthur's dragon giving up the chase of the queen (oh, I can picture Arthur's fury!), a brown could get in there. As it were.

I'm in that tough spot where I'm like, "I can do this!" but I'm also like "Am I really going to do this?" XD

I'm really looking forward to the Lacks book; even just the introduction is amazing. The story itself is astonishing.

I've read plenty of Pern fusions that played fast and loose with the universe rules, so don't feel trapped by McCaffrey's wacky dragon color rules (unless you want to!). ;)

I should really look up other books by the author of the Lacks book, she's very talented.

So you haven't read any of Hunger Games? I've read the first, but need to re-read it before tackling the sequels.

Yeah, I wonder if any of the rules are even all that relevant to this plot. I just wouldn't want readers to be like, Heyyy, that's not how it works, but then, that's what ANs are for.

I haven't read it at all!

I'm actually working on it right now! Getting the skeleton of it down. I'll need to flesh it out. I tend to be... overly concise.
