I have completed this book on the second attempt. The first time, about 18 months ago, I really tried to engage with all the exercises. This time I just ploughed on through to see where Derren was going

Yeah, he's obviously good friends with Dawkins - he actually mentions the guy a couple of times.

My feeling is that he is slightly less of a dick about it than Dawkins is.

I also think he used to attend an evangelical Christian church until he saw that the mind control techniques he studied were being used in 'charismatic' meetings. That pisses me off too.
