While on a first trip in New York for something completely different, in February, I took a chance to visit St Patrick's cathedral...

Hard to take a shot of the entire front.

Nice door.
but wondered where exactly was Armand supposed to have committed suicide (in Mnemoch the devil).
Because as the cathedral is set right on the 5th Avenue, there is no room for a grandiloquent arrival with Lestat and co. Unless Armand wanted to get driven over before jumping into the sun.
To be honest, I was walking up the 5th Avenue while taking pics of anything that caught my eye, took pics of the building and of the ones in front, kept walking towards Center Park... And at some point realized "Hey, wasn't St Patrick's supposedly before this?". And it's only when checking my map that I realized that the rather unimpressive church-looking building I had taken pictures of was, in fact, the famous St Patrick's cathedral.

Surprisingly white and small inside, to me.

I do like lighting by candles, though
...
Yeah.
So I got back to get inside and take more pics.
See, that's partly because Manhattan's buildings are really high (how original a comment is that?), so they make the cathedral look like a tiny peck next to them. It's in front (and in the shadow) of the Rockefeller Center. Of course it looks small.
And I live in Paris and have recently seen the cathedral of Cologne, one of the world's biggest. So I'm hard to impress, I'm afraid.

Not enough light or depth for good pics of the architecture, alas (I don't use flash in sacred places. I may be agnostic but I respect the place)

Ah, the merchandising store next door... so tacky.
