It was a bloody good time (see what I did there?)

I gave blood today! And, unlike last time when the woman working there insinuated that I had an eating disorder, they actually let me donate today! My friend Melissa asked that everyone donate blood as a birthday present for her (I mean, she doesn't want the blood for herself, she wants the act of charity done for her).

They were still on me about ( Read more... )

Oh that sucks. My grandfather had the same issue! And he had the same response from the blood bank - please don't come back.

I know! Like, if they're going to be so nuts about people's weights, you'd think they'd at least have a fucking scale on hand!

I think I was just SO STOKED that they let me donate this time. Also, this picture was my friend's birthday present - I put it on FB and tagged her in it :)

Matt won't donate because he's scared of needles and swears up and down that he would pass out. I keep trying to convince him that he'll be fine, but he doesn't believe me :/

And man, I wish they had chocolate-covered strawberries and fancy water bottles at my clinic. I got a pack of oatmeal cookies and some apple juice, haha.

Baahhh! They still keep turning me away because of my iron. Which I guess defeats the purpose.... but hooray you did it!

Seriously. I mean, get a fucking scale, they're like $10 at Wal-Mart.

Of course, if they did have a scale, they would have found out that I'm (likely) not 110 lbs, so I probably shouldn't complain too loudly.

And thanks! I just discovered this shirt in the back of my closet. I have so many freaking clothes that getting dressed is an adventure every time.

I've been turned away a few times because of my iron. This time I took an iron-heavy multivitamin for a week beforehand. Looks like it worked! I was worried that my iron would be extra low because of the pregnancy/breastfeeding, you know, what with my little parasite and all.
