I was going to post a real entry, but then someone on my Facebook posted the picture below and I'm sorry, because I can't even. I just can't.

I wish that women could learn to band together and fight the patriarchy instead of putting each other down :/

And yeah, me too! I'm excited for my next session!

I was also a little worried when I saw the picture before I read your commentary. I'm on the thinner side of the spectrum and have had other women pick on me for it. It SUCKS. Women shouldn't pick on other women for their body types, you would think we would know better. :(

Yeah totally. I mean, I know that as a thin woman, the comments that I get are in no way as bad as those that fat women face, but I also feel like it's (slightly) more socially acceptable to make remarks about thin women. I feel like I constantly have to defend myself for wearing a small size when really, who gives a shit what number is on the tag in your clothes?

Tiny food is so great. The sandwiches we had were absolutely miniscule!

I hear ya, I'm thin but not in shape. I always feel like I can't say that I feel like I need to start working out without being accused of having a disorder.

Yup, same here. Well, I am in shape, but when I talk about eating healthy or exercising people are like, "oh but you're already skinny!" Cool, that's not why I want to do those things, though.

"be healthy, period!" is what I tend to think as a general rule--even though I've been one of those people who post pictures like that before (sometimes people just don't think before they act)--because some people are healthy even if they are really-really skinny (I have a cousin who is REALLY skinny and people used to tell her to eat something) or overweight. sometimes you're just stuck with what you've got. as long as it's not hindering your health and quality of life, there's nothing wrong with it.

the problem is, it's hard to tell whether you're healthy or not--and just between you and me (and everyone else), I think the pic on the right was photoshopped a bit.

Well, exactly. No one can tell if you're healthy unless it's the doctor treating you. Anyone else has no business saying anything.
