He had free tickets to the preview or the opening. We had the best time making fun of it afterwards. I think there were a fair number of scientists in the audience, because we heard laughter in places where the studio wouldn't have wanted it!

I love it when the scientists zing it to the movie makers. I also love it when the historians give them a swift kick also.

I took a course on the history of interior design (not interior decoratin, it was more about furniture design and pottery and stuff like that, about how it was designed to fit in houses, a really great course) once and it made me impossible to take to movies with historical settings. I'd be bouncing up and down in my seat, yelling things like "he can't have a chair with a back on it, he's a peasant!'or "Is that GLASS in that window? in the 11th century? I think NOT!" LOL

okay, but don't people go to the movies to suspend belief? And I strongly suspect there aren't many nuclear physicists who look like Denise Richards (Christmas Jones) either.

suspension of disbelief, yes Suspension of the laws of physics, maybe not. :)
Besides, none of this registered while I was watching any of these movies (well, okay, there was the occcasional whispered "Get REAL" during the Day After Tomorrow) but I do enjoy watching experts and historians tear them to shreds afterwards...

That sounds like a great documentary. I'd love to Netflix that action...

Sorry I can't remember the title. But Nat. Geo. tends to repeat, so I'll keep my eyes open for it.
