This has, sadly, nothing to do with your post, but how did you get the kana onto your icon? I have a program that allows me to type in Japanese on the computer, but Photoshop (and pretty much every other image editing program I've tried) doesn't recognise the characters. :( I'm assuming it's a font of some sort..?

I think I used the Microsoft IME for typing Japanese characters (like how you type the phonetic version and it translates it to kanji/kana) and typed the phrase in Word, then copy/pasted it to a text layer in Photoshop. Janky, but it worked. :)
