Hooray! I finally slept through the night last night, and felt okay when I woke up! I'm tired now, but that's just because I'm still sleep-deprived on account of it being midterm hell week, but that's okay. Only two left to go!
So I got my Japanese midterm back, and despite the fact that I had just gotten back, was jet-lagged, and hadn't studied enough, I managed to get an 87. I really bombed the grammar section, but the reading and writing section saved me. Thank you video games!
I did badly enough on my EALC 135 exam that I just dropped the class, and I'm going to take it next semester. The professor was really understanding and he was willing to let me do extra work to make up my grade, but I decided that I would rather take the class when I can really get something out of it. Missing five lectures while I was in Japan was just too much.
EALC 315 went really well, but literature exams don't give me any trouble (ex-English major and all). I think I might get a B because I never finished reading Kokoro, and I spent too long on my first essay and didn't really have enough time to work Kokoro into the second one. But hey, with five midterms in as many days, I'm happy with B's.
This afternoon I have an exam in The Ocean (aka generic gen ed class), but I've got three hours to cram for it, so I'm not too worried. And then tomorrow I have EALC 298, which is my last one. Then I'm home free until spring break, and I can do all those novel things like socialize and actually go to work and earn money. Imagine that.
Oh, since I've decided to stay in the country next year, it's time for me to catch up with the rest of the world and get a cell phone. I don't have a clue what I'm doing, so anyone have any suggestions for things I should look for or avoid? I don't think I'm going to actually be *talking* on the thing much; it's more important for me for the phone to support text-messaging and email.
Alright, off to go learn about The Ocean. Sa~yonara!
