"God, I don't know what I'm doing half the time."

"Well, I don't remember who I am half the time. So, we've all got problems." Logan's skin itched. He wanted a fight or a fuck or he didn't know what but kissing Scott reminded him of how much he missed Jean -- as messed up as that was.And that? In a nutshell is why this ship is awesome. Especially when Scott gets a little unhinged. I love him saying "Let's do this thing" like it's a mission -- (it occurs to me that I think I had him say that exact phrase about giving the eulogy at Jean's funeral. *boggles* *loves businesslike Scott ( ... )

Oh cool! I'm so glad you liked it. I wasn't sure I was exactly following your prompt. Thanks for the great long comment.

I'm glad Scott came out well for you. I don't think the movies give him a lot of character but I think he is an interesting and complicated guy. Messed-up and square all at the same time. I appreciate getting the chance to write about him and Logan, too, who is always great fun to write.

I loved the story you wrote for me. I think it's cool we got each other. That seems to happen a lot for me during the XMMFicathon.

I forgot to mention how much I love that Logan apparently INVENTED sentinels in this continuity. Now, I suppose, X4 should be about Trask breaking into the danger room and getting some ideas. Logan: "Ooops."

And, yeah, I've done assignments for large-scale ficathons before, and sometimes ended up assigning people who made similar requests to each other -- I almost wrote your Scott/Logan, but I thought, "Gee that's similar to the request I made --" So glad you didn't feel the same way. Though I'm so glad you did this one, because I don't think I could have written the cigars and -- well, I love your metaphors.

"Do you really expect the children to come up against giant robots?"

"You never know."

BWAHAH! Awesome.

This story was just fabulous--I love the banter, and I love how serious Scott was about them having sex, and GUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH that was HOT. That cigar smoking scene? *FANS SELF MADLY*

I like the end, too. Very poignant and bittersweet, knowing what is to come. I like the shadow of Jean between them, with scent-memory making her real. Really nice writing, too.

And again with the hot :)

Thank you! I never get tired of writing about sentinels. I'm glad it came out hot. It's not a pairing I've done before but it's one I really like, especially with the ghost of Jean always hovering around.

"Do you really expect the children to come up against giant robots?"

LMAO. So perfect.

Love the way you describe Scott.

Thanks. I'm a big fan of sentinels. I think they're so ridiculous and cool at the same time. Turning them into a Danger Room exercise was one detail I liked in the last movie.

I'm glad Scott worked for you. I haven't written him a lot but he's one of my favorite characters.

Oh, this was fantastic. I was laughing at the start, and crying at the end. Logan was wonderfully honest and compassionate, and Scott was so lost. I loved the giant robot, the divey bar, the man love, and the dream of the lake. Wonderful.

Also, never have I learned so much esoteric smoking information as I have in your fics.

Hee! Thanks. I actually did research on cigar smoking for this story. Though none of the experts I consulted suggested sucking it like a breast or a c- you know. That's Logan's own unique advice.

I do think Logan is a very honest guy and quite compassionate despite his gruff attitude. I think that's something Hugh Jackman portrays really well in the movies.
