I totally bought all of season 3, if there are some of them you still need. HIS FACE. IT seems like the silliest thing, watching someone's face as they watch a show, but it is so strangely awesome, like having someone confirm all your own feels.

I find myself cackling, "Oh just you wait, Mark!" at his blog all the time.

I totally need to dig into his 50 Shades of Grey stuff some day. That's how I "read" Twilight, by reading his blog. He reads stuff for me and analyzes it, so I don't have to! What a selfless person.

confusing girlhood crush on Weasley and Picard at the same time.

Ha ha, add Data to that mix for me.

Also, hi!

Oh, Data. Funny that Riker is supposed to be the womanizer, attractive one and I never had even the tiniest thing for him. Probably a good sign. (Though Jonathan Frakes, director of awesome leverage episodes, he may deserve a slight fangirl crush. Lol)

And, hi!!

I actually finished a rough draft of the next chapter of The Changeling. All 42,500 words of it. Now to hunt down a beta to help me make sense of the doubtlessly hot mess this fic is after two years of poking at it.

Oh yay! I've been re-reading all of HP recently (nothing on tv is holding my attention lately) and was thinking I needed to go back and read this too. I'd offer to help but you probably don't want to wait six years for me to get through it right now. :)

Ah, you too, huh! I wonder if it's the season or everything on TV just sucks.

No worries about the beta. I kind of feel like no one in their right mind is going to want to take this on. And then I wonder if anyone in their right mind is going to be willing to read it at all. I have no idea how I had so much to say about HBP, which was by far my least favorite book. Maybe that's why. I had a lot to fix/make up. Ginny didn't have a lot to do in that book other than date people and let Harry obsess about her from afar (when he wasn't obsessing about Draco).

I'd be interested to see some of your favorite HP fics. I haven't really read a lot in that fandom, strangely enough. Seems like fanwriter 101, read a lot of fic so you don't trip into popular tropes. Whoops.

I think we got spoiled by an era of really good tv before the whole cable/Netflix revolution. I really enjoyed Longmire and Orange is the New Black, but they were shows with the luxury of financing behind them and didn't have the same kind of production schedules that network tv has.

Trawling HP fic archives made me feel very uncomfortable - there's just so much character hate there. I backed out pretty fast. Grav_ity has a bunch I enjoyed but forgot to bookmark. Igrockspock and Penknife both should be checked out. The few I did bookmark that I'd rec (mostly minor characters):

The Journey of a Thousand Miles (7069 words) by igrockspock
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Harry Potter - J. K. Rowling
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Luna Lovegood, Xenophilius Lovegood, Severus Snape
Summary:
After the end of the war, Luna makes two surprising discoveries: her father attempted to give Harry to Lord Voldemort, and Severus Snape is alive.

The Bucket List of One Hermione Granger (4271 words) by igrockspock
... )

Oh, thanks. I think I've read a few of these, but not all. I already ran over and read the War-Torn one. Really really great. Women being awesome!!!

If you write 41,000 words of SG-1 fic, I'll beta it for you.

Wheee! You posted! I do like Elementary although I admit to craving the BBC Sherlock more. But then, it's easier to put out a few hours every 2-3 years, much harder to do a weekly show in U.S. terms.

Aside from the oldies (NCIS, Castle) the only new show I watch is Constantine. And I heard it's not a given that it will be renewed. Sigh.
