Phryne Fisher's antics have been a constant course of delight to me for a few years now, so it's great that you are enjoying the series. As you say the costuming is fantastic. There was an exhibition of some of her outfits held last year at Old Government House in Parramatta. Just amazing!!
Without a doubt one of my favourites and I'm *really* looking forward to series 3.
Just in case you weren't aware, the MFMM series is based (closely) on a series of books by Kerry Greenwood, the first being "Cocaine Blues", as I think was episode 1 of the TV series.
The really great thing though is that the TV writers changed things just enough that although you can clearly see the ancestry of many episodes in the books, there are sufficient differences that having seen the TV series doesn't stop you enjoying you books. Well, in my case I'd read the books first but still. And since she's currently at about book 23 that's a lot to enjoy. :-) There are also a couple of really good characters who appear in the books but didn't make it into the TV series, presumably for financial reasons. They may make it into season 3.
Plus if you're into audiobooks they're all available on Audible & the reader is imho one of the best I've ever heard. Certainly she captures Phrynne perfectly.
