you should pursue it! midwifery is an excellent field with lots of growth (especially now that the ol' OB guys are retiring).

you just have to have a BSN in nursing, go back and get what is an equivalent to a little beyond a masters (last i heard).

i plan to return to either be a clinical nurse specialist in congestive heart failure education or a nurse practitioner specializing in outpatient psychiatric medicine. i just have to decide and feel like i'm ready to take on a master's program. not there yet, first i'm getting my feet wet on a telemetry/progressive care unit (cardiovascular) floor at mayo hospital. after that, we'll see!

that book is great. i think i would have quit my job, dumped my fiance, or punted my cat off the roof without it.
