The only argument for iPods over CDs and records that I fully get behind is being able to find everything immediately.

That, and if CDs/records get lost - say, the moving company "misplaces" two boxes of irreplaceable jazz and blues recordings - at least one has a digital copy of the music. Mmph.

See you in a couple of weeks!

I just learned that the "new, hip" thing is (quotes to indicate my own lack of novelty and hipness) to release vinyl that comes with a password that lets you download digital files of the songs as well.

I got a turntable with a USB port that lets you digitize vinyl yourself. I did it with a bunch of 45s but so far haven't been industrious enough to commit everything to the computerator.

I enjoy having an ephemeral relationship with my music library.

Music is not a physical artifact.
