Whoa! Chilling stuff! Macabre image there at the end, of Harry culling the general public in an effort to resurrect the dead.
This is a tricky, complicated little story, not the black and white "Hermione and Harry are the good guys (and Draco the bad buy, for that matter!)" usual fanfic fare. I guess it *is* in Hermione's character - she who jinxed Marietta, who led Umbridge to the centaurs - to be similarly ruthless in trying to protect Harry by lying to him and cobbling his power. At the end you've got Snape believing that she's still going to try and stop Harry ... I hope so. You've got me worried about what would happen next ... would Hermione finally realise that Harry's insane, would she try to kill him? Yoiks. Good story!

I'm a little confused, I have to admit. Is Ron really the real Ron? Is Hermione just going to go along with his scheme? Is that truly the end...
