It's been almost a year since I started writing Like A Rusty Broken Thing.  28 chapters, 2 ficlets,  and 65,059 words later.... and the end of this story is in sight. Over the last year I've been asked lots of questions about this storyline, this world, and these characters. I thought I'd take a moment to talk about this universe that lives in ( Read more... )

things that make me smile, series: like a rusty broken thing, i'm grateful peeps are interested

I've only been reading this tale for the past few months and never paid attention to the dates. But I'd like to thank you for sticking with this tale and this verse. I'm looking forward to seeing how you wrap this all up - even though I'll be desperately sorry when it's over.

Also, I really appreciate the thought you've obviously put into this AU and the effort you've undertaken to make a coherent world that makes internal sense! 8D

Thank you for reading! I've had so much fun with this story :)

Sometimes I feel like what I write isn't making any sense to anyone but myself, lol. I'm glad it's been mostly coherent!

How could we leave you. We love your writing and this particular story is awesome. My first love was Mavid and where oh where have all their stories gone.
I have one question and hope it isn't a spoiler for the future. In the first few chapters you made it clear that Michael had exceptional healing powers and that scene with Neal (with D watching) was one of the hottest. Are you going to let us see sexy Michael doing some more sexual healing?

I miss Mavid stories as well. Fandom is a fickle thing.

I don't want to give away any detail, but yes... you will have the opportunity to see Michael's healing power in action once more.

Wow, this is awesome. Thanks Annie, for the background info. Its truly interesting and I really love how you've created this world and this story. I too will be really sad when it ends, but I've loved reading it a lot. :) <3

Can I giggle that the climax of the story is...well, the climax? :P

Thank you for this. I had pieced together most of what you've said here from the chapters, but the succinct explanation of how the reproduction works, and that it's not a case of Weres overpowering humans but simply that the Weres are the dominant species was fascinating to read.

Yep. The climax will be... the climax. lol I do have something pretty interesting planned first though :)

And thanks for all the help you've given me with this :)

I love it when you ramble. :)

I'm glad you wrote this AND that you posted it. I knew most of it all already, but this was really cool to read. I loved reading about this world you created in your head. To me, this is part of what makes a great writer what they are. That a world like this can be created in their head and make so much sense. You covered everything - laws, reproduction, types of weres, etc.... It's really fascinating to me.

I'm with fishie and I too giggled that the climax of the story is the climax of Mavid! *LOL* But that's a very fitting end to the story.

Epilogue eh? Why am I not surprised? And delighted? :)

Seriously I couldn't have come as far as I have with this story if I didn't have you. Your constant cheerleading, handholding, and beta'ing have been invaluable. Love ya BB!

I love you too bb. And you so totally could have done this amazing writing all by yourself. You are an amazing writer, never doubt that. I'm just glad I was along for the ride. :)
