Could you guys do me a favour and listen to this band: http://www.myspace.com/parashurama and could you please tell me what you think. Honest opinion please. = )
They are not bad Annie, I like it. Those songs are clearly live and the music tends to be louder than the vocals, specially for new bands. The intro to the songs are just a tiny bit long, but that is ok. I like their sound.
Thanks a lot Yuvi for taking the time to have a listen. I've got a few problems with the singers voice too. I sometimes think he's trying too hard to sound American, if you know what I mean. LOL! My favourite is actually 'Green River' and I'm wondering if it is because it doesn't have too many lyrics ( lyrics = voice ). And suggestions regarding "nice" criticism would be more than welcome.
Am listening to the first song in their queue atm, and I really quite like them. Awesome atmospheric quality to their sound. Reminds me of The Mars Volta, a bit. The vocals are a little incomprehensible; I think the vocalist could maintain the ethereal quality of the music but still manage to clean the vocals up some.
And now the shallow review, judging by their picture: OMG PRECIOUS. But maybe don't tell them that. ;)
Hey Sarah! Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to them. I quite like the sound too, but have a few problems with the singers voice. That's basically why I asked for your opinion, because it's my nephew's band and I really wanted an honest opinion, although I can imagine that you sort of knew that it was someone I know. I'm not really sure what to do, because I already mentioned to my nephew that the singers voice is lacking something. Doesn't mean that he couldn't train it, but I'm not sure if they bother about what I'm saying. Maybe if you could give me some advice, what I could tell them to improve a few things, that would be really helpful. I just don't know how to bring that across. = )
