That's right, I hate them. I have always had this very deep hatred for mimes. Clowns too, but most specifically mimes. At least clowns have the balls to aggressively be creepy. But mimes! ahahahahahaha......anna, i think the first step of your journey needs to be forgiveness. mimes aren't haters....they're just misunderstood. maybe it would benefit you to seek one out, sit it down, and just give it a big old hug.

I hate mimes and specifically this one. I really really hope it's not on the test. I just don't get it, what's so important about him!?

was this mime the first photographer to put a mirror in front of his lens? For fuck's sake, anybody could take that picture in their own bathroom and it would be the same, mean the same. I guess I understand the performance aspect of it your professor mentions, I just don't see the point of studying this particular photograph when it's such an overused self-portrait technique. Even for the sake of preservation of antiquity, this is more trivia than important photography.

It's not a self portrait, it is a photograph taken by Nadar. But I agree, what's teh big deal? It's a guy in a funny outfit mocking the photographer!

I once knew a mime. He taught at my school - I thought he was cool, but maybe he was just sucking the youth out of the kids and using it to become a Super Mime.
