the bedroom with shut door is the only cool room in our place. Dixie and I retired there with the TV and a good book and a siesta

Y U C K! We have it hot like that here too! I live in the "valley" in California and summers are Y U C K! Unless, of course, you can spend it all day long by the pool! With a servant fanning you and bringing you nice cool drinks! LOL

Wow, kristine00's icon is terrible! (The flashing one; I only had a quick look, and clicked on the new comment button as fast as I could!)

Yesterday was awful. Even at 7.30 p.m. going outside was like walking into a blast furnace. Thank goodness next week will be cooler, but I dread to think what summer's going to be like.

(I'm so glad Kurk Tippett's staying on. I think they should make him captain.)

I don't know if will work for you (it may depend on the computer and/or browser) but - if you hit the 'Escape' button it should stop all flashing icons and gifs from moving.

Ooh, thanks for that tip. It worked. :-)

And yes, this new term "catastrophic" has caught us all by surprise. A little bit over the top, but I think it did apply to yesterday's weather.

I've been keeping you and gaycrow in mind these last few days. All I keep hearing on the news is catastrophic conditions in SA!

thanks folks. Miss Dixie had her last anti=imflamatory ? injection today as she has footballers knee/floating kneecap/luxuriating patella. From now on she gets one every 3 months and that will keep the joice flowing in kneecap. The good news is the nurse can do it so it only costs me $22 for the shot.

I love her. She is 10
