hello everyone. wow, it's been 17 weeks since i was last on here! hehe. well, let's see... what's new? um, i started a new job in october. it is great, i work at a high school, so i get to help students all day. hubby also got a new job in november, working at a group home for 14-18 year old boys. he works graveyard, though, but we've gotten

What do you do at the high school?

It's called the Student Assistance Program. I am a support & resource person on campus for the students. The main thing I do is support groups on different topics (stress management, anger management, quitting tobacco, drug & alcohol awareness, family stress, teen relationships, etc.), but I also do a few other things, like conflict mediation and referring students to community resources such as counseling, clinics, shelters, etc. And a handful of times throughout the year, I put on a lunch program that is designed for mentoring. The staff invites a student guest to lunch, and it gives them time to get to know each other. That is today... and I'm doing a baked potato bar... yum! :)
