On Tuesday, I had to go for a follow-up test to see whether I have gestational diabetes or not. This involved fasting for 12 hours, getting blood drawn, chugging that horrible glucose drink in 5 minutes and then getting blood drawn every hour for three hours past that. Fifteen hours of fasting. My mom got gestational diabetes with the last baby. Basically she had to stop eating so bad or else the baby would get too big.

She didn't really do that too well, you can't tell a pregnant lady what she can and can't eat [/badstand-up], so she had the baby a couple weeks before the due date and it kind of evened things out.

Good luck!

I'm not a big person though, so I can't have a big baby and still have a vaginal birth. My limit is eight pounds, I can't do anything bigger than that according to the doc. There's also a risk of miscarraige if you eat too much sugar when you have gestational diabetes.

My cousin had it, had a really bad water retention problem due to it, and got HUGE (she's my size, pretty much the same dimentions so I could see what it'd be like), and she had a son that was about nine pounds. The kid had a cone head from her trying to push him out for a whole day before they did an emergency c-section. I'd rather that not be me. D:
