Just got back from my cousins wedding shower part 2. Part 1 was last week- her friend shower. I was invited to both for some reason. Today was the family one. My mom and her sisters threw it for her at the smokehouse. It was really nice. She is a teacher in Gibralter and I gave her my resume to give to her principal. Not much is new here. I subbed everyday again this week except for Tuesday. Monday I did 3rd grade at Yake Elementary, Wednesday was 1st grade at Erving Elementary, Thursday was my student teaching class (YAHH) and Friday was 2nd grade at Bates. Here we go, into my fourth week of unemployment and sitting around my house. Last week I wasn't too bored though. I tried to apply to be a substitute teacher. However, the schools would not give me an application because they already have too many subs. How depressing is that? I have decided to maybe give up on teaching and go into something else. This weekend was so much fun. Friday night, Ang, Jaclyn, Steve and I went to the Tigers game. It was rainy and cold but we didn't even notice. We sat right by third base since hardly anyone was there. We drank big daquiris the whole night. And the Tigers won!! In extra innings too. I love baseball games. So my first week of unemployment has come and gone. I went to the Teacher Job Fair on Thursday. It was basically a meat market of people all vying for those 1 or 2 positions open at Michigan Schools. The Rochester line was 2 hours. Farmington, Ann Arbor, West Bloomfield, were all ridiculus. I stuck to Gibralter, Summit Academy and Allen Park. ( Read more... )
