I had to look up draught. It's a British word similar to draft or breeze. I found this poem in a book called "A Practical Guide to Buddhist Meditation," by Paramananda. He was talking about how meditation is the door to finding out our deepest desires and aspirations. I like to think of it as him suggesting we all try to open that door to learn who we are and what we want. I took the last line to mean that even if we try to do anything, at least we will have tried and had that experience. It's definitely not my favorite poem, but I enjoyed it for what it is.
