Last week the insurance nurse came by to take my vitals.  She went easy on my weight, rounding up my height and taking off 7 pounds for "clothing" weight.  However, she wrote down my blood pressure as 160/100.  I thought that was weird, because my blood pressure is usually 120/80.  So I looked it up after she left and Web MD said, "Oh my fucking ( Read more... )

I hope he gets better too. Right now he thinks I'm a witch because I keep shoving medicine in his mouth.

I can empathize with Hen there. I, too, suffer from an overactive gag reflex, and it wasn't until I was an adult and not willing to put up with the embarrassment of eating pills with jelly or something that I forced myself to swallow them whole. It sucked.

When I was younger, it did have to be crushed. I did eventually make the transition to whole, as long as it was in jelly, but it still sucked.

You might want to look up "whitecoat hypertension" - my Mom and I both have it. If I as much as walk into a doctor's office, even my dentist, my BP can shoot up 30-50 points. Take your own readings every day for a week and send those to the insurance company (or to your GP).

I think it was that I was trying to tidy up the house before the nurse arrived when the insurance company called for the medical interview. So I was explaining every single doctor's visit for the last ten years while the nurse took my blood pressure.

Poor kitty! It is so hard when they aren't feeling well, and with cats it's kind of tough to know what's going on with him.

I also have a lot of sympathy for the dentist situation. Not fun.
