Well, that is me, going to Scotland Comic Con 24 with my daughter, Claudia and Mickey, her partner.
After years of her resisting SPN because her mom liked it, they watched, they binged and they rewatched. Add in, that like me she has a bagful of other loved shows, Edinburgh Comic Con seemed like a great idea to her, and dragging me to enjoy it

I'm going!! I'm dragging my hubby along though he may not get a ticket and spend the time wandering round Edinburgh instead. At the moment I've got a Diamond ticket for Saturday and a Jensen photo and auto, and then a standard entry for Sunday and a Jensen M&G.
My friend went last year and said it was a fun, relaxed if chaotic event - the hall is a big warehouse that apparently smells of potatoes!
There will be a SPN panel with all the SNP guests, which is unticketed but will get very packed out. My friend said last time it was a a teenie tiny stage with about 100 fold out chairs and everyone else just stood around where they could find a space, so I guess we'll need to get their early.
If you buy an auto instead of a photo op, most guests do selfies at the auto tables, so that's a good way to have a little chat with them and get a photo too. They usually cost the same price. Not sure Jensen does selfies though - he whizzes through so many autos with great efficiency. The trick with him is to find something to say to break his flow.

I completely forgot I posted here until I finally let my anxiety acknowledge that I am going and on my way today. Sheesh. Terror level 10. Anyway, if you see me I'd love to say hi. According tomy wayward mid length brown hair, I'm going as a low rent short fat Sam Winchester. Plum plaid over an ancient Moose and Squirrel T Shirt, and jeans. Not sure if you'll even see this, or me. Have a blast this weekend.

Ah sorry I'll miss you - I decided not to go after Jensen pulled out because Paul also wasn't keen, and there wasn't any ice hockey on for him, so it was a long way to go... But I'm sure you'll find it fine once you get there! Let me know how you get on xx

Oh, that sounds wonderful! I took my adult daughter to Rhode Island Comic Con a couple of years ago and we had a wonderful time, although the place was a madhouse and very crowded. I didn’t realize ahead of time that a lot of SPN actors would be there, although I knew Jared would be. We didn’t bring any money with us, so we scrounged what little cash we had for a quick photo with Mark Sheppard, who was as funny and smart as you can imagine. I also had a lovely conversation with Samantha Ferris about mothers and daughters who love SPN - she says she gets that a lot.
You’ll have a wonderful time!

I hope you'll really enjoy it. There will be crowds though, and if crowds intimidate, make sure you take what you need to cope, including time to deal with it. I love the cosplays and the enthusiasm that comes with that kind of convention. I hope you will too.

But you are brave and adventurous to go with your daughter. I hope the cosplay is fabulous and you find things to love, and nooks and places to retire and recharge when you need to!

AH if you ever change your mind and go to something with SPN cast, I don't think you'll have the feet of clay problem - most of our cast are so lovely, funny and kind, and very appreciative of their fan base. One reason I keep on going to conventions, really. They are such a great bunch.
