Day 10 - A show you thought you wouldn't like but ended up loving
The Mighty Boosh
About a year ago, Justin announced he had a show he wanted me to see. He turned on this weird, low-budget show about a couple of shopkeepers in England. I gritted my teeth and told myself it was only 30 minutes. I could stand it. 15 minutes later, I realized that I was thoroughly enjoying myself. The show was The Mighty Boosh. The episode was “Eels.”
The Boosh is weird. Really weird. But it’s weird in a charming way. The show focuses on two friends: the stationery-obsessed, tiny-eyed Howard Moon and the mod with great cheekbones, Vince Noir. They get thrown into bizarre situations and interact with strange characters like Naboo the Enigma, Bolo the Gorilla, and Bob Fossil, the American whose shirt is at least 5 sizes too small. Usually, there’s music.
This show doesn’t really lend itself to good descriptions. It’s best just to watch it.
