Wow, that is grotesque!! Truth is stranger than fiction.
I am also wack, because when I read about Eliot Ness I just get all happy because Nick Lea, who played my beloved Krycek on XFiles, played Ness on Supernatural (ep 7.12, Time after Time). JOY.
That is Dean in the icon, having gone back in time to work with Ness. AWESOMENESS OVERLOAD.
I recently heard about that! I don't remember from where, though. What was Mr. Ness doing in Supernatural? Was it during his glory days in Chicago? I'm afraid his time in Cleveland ruined his career. I think Cleveland has that effect on people.

Apparently the episode is set in 1944 and they are in Canton Ohio. Dean is ecstatic to meet Ness but everything he knows about him is based on the movie The Untouchables. :P So this is post Chicago but Dean's references to Al Capone just draw blank looks from Ness. It is a great ep. If you ever watched Veronica Mars, Jason Dohring is also in the ep! He was the scumbag boyfriend I love to hate and love on VMars. :D
One more thing... I have an associative memory.... "Al Capone" makes me think of one of Christopher Eccleston's favorite songs, by a ska performer called Prince Buster. (He did a radio show where he lists a bunch of his favorite songs). Here is a link to the song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDfvXrMnJu0 --Chris says that as a kid he particularly loved the sound effects at the beginning of the record. He spent his free time pretending and rushing around, which just make so smile so much!
