I'm really curious to know what the rules are. Because I have a ton of smutty smut ideas, but I'm sure that none of them would be appropriate.

e-harlequin.com has all of the guidelines for their various genres. they have different submission guidelines for each type of book they publish.

You are the fourth person I know who has had this plan. It is a ridiculous(ly awesome) plan and I wish you luck. A lot of fun to research, I would imagine.

My all-time favourite romance novel is one that was read aloud on the way to Florida two years ago. It was called Damien, I think, and he was an earth demon so when he got excited the earth did things. Like quake. During the sex scene where he and the female lead eventually FINALLY got together (if demons sleep with humans they die, but it turned out she has some kind of power? It was plot-vital, I'm sure. He could also do backflips) the earth shook and all of the windows in the house shattered. A short time later all the windows in the house shattered again.
It was pretty fantastically awful. I guess I only really love it because of the context through which I was exposed to it. It also helped that we had the Japanese exchange student read the smuttiest bits.

One sent one in and got rejected but is not letting that stop her, another I haven't talked to in years, and the last was really just my roommate and I one night saying it would be brilliant with no actual intention to do it.
I look forward to one day having a success story about someone I know though!
