women of colour especially need to be protected because they are part of two groups (women and people of colour) that are disproportionately affected by violence. Call me crazy but i think that security guards should try to pay special attention to people that tend to get beat up. Its kinda ummm...they're job (duh).

also, i'm not convinced. seems that my security is as much their responsibility as yours is (well, maybe that's not a good example, since i don't go to concordia and you do).
mostly though, it seems disingenuous to play this up so heavily as a racist/sexist issue when it seems to me the real problem is that the security guards are power tripping assholes. which isn't really a surprise, that's their job.
