But WTH was the picking up baristas and then the not very smooth transition to H/G?

Yeah. Admittedly H/G is a little out of the blue in HBP as well, but nothing like in the books. If they'd just thrown in a few actual lingering glances rather than blank stares, it would have helped. Or had him smell the love potion cauldron and say it reminded him of something at the Burrow. Any kind of lead-up! Instead it was just playboy!Harry picking up the girls to quietly and desperately in love with Ginny!Harry sobbing with Hermione. I felt like I'd accidentally missed a big portion of the film, and I felt like that more than once.

the light slowly obscuring the Dark Mark (which is a cloud now, eh?) - was awesome.

I think that was the best moment of the movie for me, actually.

Yeah - I'm somewhere between uninterested and a slight H/G shipper, as in that I like the concept well enough and get the point - but it was not smoothly done, I don't think. And the movie was just NOT. I didn't mind the barista thing per se, but in the context it was just really strange. If she'd at least looked anything like Ginny, perhaps...? Adding the thing with the Amorentia would definitely have helped, IMO! It seriously did feel like some ten-fifteen minutes were missing by the brids scene. Not smooth, Yates.

It was so cool! Apart from the DM being a freaking cloud, but still - I like those sort of symbols.
