There are times when all I want in life is a beautiful crossover of all the best World War II fandoms. CNV/Captain America/Montmaray Journals, with Petrova Fossil in a supporting role! I am not sure how to get the Pevensies in there, on account of how they're still children, but I daresay something could come up.
The one problem is that I cannot think of any way for Maddie and Steve to share their best-friend-losing traumas with each other, because Julie's death at least is totally classified. Although probably Peggy Carter knows about it. Maybe she sets them up as a support group for each other? And then Maddie and Peggy look after each other after Steve's dumb adventure with the airplane?
(Although frankly this thought just makes me sad that Julie is not going to come back as a totally badass, albeit brainwashed, superspy. UNLESS. MAYBE NATASHA ROMANOFF IS SECRETLY - )
Oh My God. That is ACTUALLY THE BEST EVER. I want Julie to come back as Natasha/a Black Widow SO BADLY. SO BADLY. Imagine Maddie & Jamie post-war raising the war orphans and possibly their family and then there's a visitor...
Peggy would totally know. Or we could have the Colonel expedite it. (And now I want the Colonel in the MCU) He would definitely put a hand int to start a Best-Friend-Loss Support Group. But Maddie & Peggy commiserating during the end of the war celebrations? And Veronica possibly having a look and ...then leaving them to it because she has absolutely nothing to add to this.
I have a half-written Lucy & Henry at boarding school fic from a while back (even though Henry is quite a bit older). Though you could use the movie Narnia timelines and get at least Peter at an age to interact with grownups too.
RIGHT? RIGHT? And Maddie would be like "REMEMBER WHEN I SHOT YOU" and Julie would be like "It's time for me to return the favor" and Maddie would be all "WAIT, IT WAS ACTUALLY THE MOST LOVING THING I COULD DO JUST THEN, WHY ARE YOU POINTING A GUN AT MY HEAD."
And the Colonel should clearly be part of the MCU. Maybe he went to school with Peggy's father or something. And you know he would be all over anything as hush-hush as supersoldier serum.
And Veronica really would have nothing to contribute to this support group. Which is actually really good! Veronica suffers no totally devastating losses! I mean, there's Henry, but although she loves Henry I don't think Veronica is crushed under the pain.
Unless maybe she lost someone on one of those mysterious trips to Spain? She could have had a whole big drama that Sophie knew nothing about, because of course it was classified and Careless Talk Costs Lives and she can't tell anyone about it even though it's eating her up inside.
