Anon Beatles Discussion Thread #2

Topic:
Beatles songs being used in commercials - and ect.
(I choose this topic because it seems to be a current one of interest
because of the most recent one using John's voice for a charity commercial)

Sometimes they're fine, if it's not odd or a shitty cover (looking at you, Jonas Bros.). But I really dislike that All You Need Is Love commercial for Luvs diapers.

Oh geez I remeber that. I would die inside everytime I saw that commercial. All You Need Is Love is about peace and love to everyone not about bebe poo!

I thought it was hilarious when Phillips used "Getting Better" in their commercial. They left out "can't get no worse," obviously, but I'm content in believing it was implied. As someone who's interested in the history of the video game industry, I hate Phillips.

I hate that computer charity commercial. I bet you with every $1000 labtop they only give 5. Geez. Also it doesn't even sound a bit like John. It pisses me off sometimes.

I would have to agree with you... I'm more angry with Yoko for allowing it to happen! I understand its a charity, and John may have approved of it, but the commercial is just creepy, bringing his voice "back to life" saying phrases he never said when alive. It's weird. It unsettles me, I hate it...

The man is dead and they should respect that. His voice -- even though it's not really his voice as it's been digitalized -- should not be saying anything that he did not say while alive.

On a slightly different tangent-- I love the fact that Ringo was doing travel company commercials well into the 2000s.

No need to use a song when you have the Beatle himself, right?
