lukinha_jesus. Her fics are great! Sometimes, however, the grammar messes me up a bit while reading. I understand she's not a native speaker--at least I think she's not--but aren't her beta-ers there to fix silly little mistakes such as "...the sixteen years old..." It really should be "the sixteen-year-old." Perhaps she should get another person to beta strictly the grammar...?

Seriously! I find it hard to believe she even HAS a beta, her grammar is so extremely far out of whack. And I don't even really like her fics that much, but I'll read 'em anyway because at least she's trying. :/

I think she has TWO betas actually. That just makes it worse. She's getting better, I think, but she shouldn't be having any mistakes anyway because she does have multiple betas.

It's a cowardly thing to do to launch personal attacks on people anonymously. The idea of having anonymous debate about the different Beatles comms is a good one. I think with comms like jhp, there's a very cozy atmosphere and no one wants to speak out when they disagree with something happening on the comm because no one wants to rock the boat. I think anon discussion can be positive for communities, but I do not think discussion should degenerate into the kind of hateful nonsense so often posted at beatlesecret. If we're going to talk about moderation, I think this comm could do with some stricter rules of its own. Just because we're posting anon doesn't mean we should throw all decency out the window. Criticising the common trends in a comm is one thing, but let's lay off on the personal attacks, it's so depressing to see.

no one wants to speak out when they disagree with something happening on the comm because no one wants to rock the boat.

The problem with that is that sometimes things need to be said. There are a lot of members over at jhp who can't take the slightest criticism, like beagle_agent's recent accusations of "flaming." No one was flaming her, they were just disagreeing. Gods forbid.

No one here is "throwing all decency out the window." All we're doing is stating some very mild issues we have with some of the members of other communities. I mean, seriously? beagle_agent, is that you? It could have gotten a lot uglier.

The truly sad thing is that there really isn't a lot of debate in this post. Nearly everyone agrees on who the problems are. But the truly very sad thing is that we do have to post these comments anonymously, for fear of having our heads metaphorically ripped off.

Yes, sometimes things need to be said. But with posts like "so and so kinda sucks" etc. it's not constructive or helpful at all, its like the books certain little girls have at high school, writing mean things about other girls. What is the point? It offends the person, perhaps they will change their behavior but there are better ways to go about it aren't there ( ... )

The point is to vent. Maybe you missed the point of a good portion of my previous post, but it was that we can't post these opinions publicly, with our (user)names attached. And just one person above posted "_____ kind of sucks" and no one else agreed with them. We all have something relatively constructive to say, we just can't say it.

Anon is good because we can post something, I don't know, anonymously. It's up to the moderators to decide what's good and what's not. That's a beef you have with them and, frankly, I disagree. This a place to talk about every facet of this fandom, sorry. This community isn't about being constructive. It's good because it lets us vent.

But people can be problems. If you can say that, no, their not their problem, it's just a problem when they do ____, then it means they are a problem. If their personality chafes, their a problem. A certain trait of theirs can make them a problem if it's not addressed, which, you know, at the risk of sounding redundant, etc ( ... )

She tries so hard to be funny and quirky and offbeat. And she obviously thinks she's such a good writer.
