I actually found another article in the Globe and Mail, which makes the same point.. it just confuses me that the church can basically say.. "hey, y'know what? We decided we don't actually believe this anymore" -- of course, that particular church has lost a lot of credibility in my eyes recently (and it didn't have much to begin with). Think this might be a first step to "Catholicism WOW!"?

Like Ben Affleck said (and what source is more credible than Ben?), "That which ye hold true on Earth, I shall hold true in heaven" -- although it's a fucking cop-out, it does give the church a fairly large shield to hide behind.
