[ It's three in the morning on another cold autumn night. She's managed to get to sleep a little easier tonight... but that isn't saying much. Her thoughts have been occupied on him despite how much she tries to distract herself, no matter how much she cooks or cleans or tries to converse with others that would usually make her feel so much better-- she can't get over it ( ... )

[pulls away slightly, and kind of wants to carry her up just to hold her...but waits for her to lead the way]

[even if he stares at a wall for ten hours while she sleeps, it's far better than doing what he was doing]

[ She offers him a small, tired smile before taking his hand and leading him toward the stairs and up to her bedroom. ]

[ All the lights are still off and half of the blankets are on the floor from throwing them off before but she walks over to fix them. ]

[frowns at the blankets, not because it's messy, but because they mean she must've leapt out of the damn bed]

[nods to himself and strips down to socks and underwear, wondering if she'll laugh at him for that as he folds everything up]

[ She's already laying back against the pillows by the time he slips into bed, offering another lazy smile as he rolls over and faces her. ]

[ She really is relieved to see him, all of her worry suddenly gone and making it feel as though she has room to breathe again. ]

[ She doesn't want to sleep just yet but it comes faster than she expects and before she knows it, she's sleeping much more peacefully, breath warm and even against his skin. ]

[and he just keeps doing it, even after she's asleep - noses and drops a few kisses, holding her close and rubbing her back a little]

[he blearily wakes up a few times - he's more cat-napping than sleeping - but settles back to sleep after a lazy nuzzle or two and finally sinks into real sleep sometime just before dawn]
