gonna have to agree on that one, but it's a problem that almost all Ed rpers have for some reason. I don't understand why they seem to think they need to pepper his sentences with swear words like they're a substitute punctuation.

I think for transmutates it's more frown-worthy because not only is it fa!ed (who swears a lot less and, depending on the subs, has never said "fuck" at all), but she plays from from cos. he's way, WAY more mellowed out and swears almost never during the movie. the profuse amount of cursing from transmutates is weird and unnatural, which has always turned me off of that Ed.

that and the blatant elricest. I understand if you ship it, but it's not something I'd suggest bringing so heavily into the undertones of your game. it's kind of like how there's royed subtext in cos, and it's fine to play that up subtly, but when you toss it in there where it's constantly mentioned and blatantly obvious... that's crossing the line into ooc.

The last point reminds me of something I've seen with a lot of RPers in a lot of fandoms: There are different types of subtext. You get some characters that have lots of UST subtext when they interact, but outside of that don't really think about each other, and others that spend ages pining over one another.

If you ship characters because of the subtext between them, make sure it's the right sort of subtext.

I'll try to cut back on the swearing, anon. Sorry about that.

Ftr, the reason I use "fuck" (which I try to keep for more emotional moments and refrain from using except then, but if I need to pull back more, I can do that), is because Ed frequently uses the phrase "fuzuk n da", which (I've been told) can be translated as anything from "don't mess with me" to "don't fuck with me". That, and Ed's tendency to use phrases or words like "konoyaro", "bakayaro", "kisama", "teme", "kuso", and the like. Which... I think are usually considered forms of cursing in Japanese?

But you're right in that he's far more mellowed out in COS and I've actually been concerned about finding a happy medium with that. I've been worried about making him too mellow or angsty, so maybe I'm over compensating in that area. I'll have to work on that a bit more. He does still use some of the above phrases, but usually with different feeling behind it. There's also the different setting in GND having a bit of an impact as well. A lot of the reason Ed's so mellowed ( ... )

Just a different guy offering a little helpful note:

It's "fuzakeru", as in "fuzakeru na" and all the variations thereof.

It means "don't screw/mess with me" and is indeed rough language, but that need not necessarily include the word "fuck".

Hi Anon.

Sorry you don't like the pairing. However, sadly, I joined Guys and Dolls to play out a variety of things with Alphonse. Yes, Elricest will probably occur, and so will other things. I've been in the game barely a week and I to be honest all I can do laugh over seeing this pop up already.

Don't read it if you don't care for it. Have the courage to come to me personally if you want to talk about it more.

RP is my pretendy fun times and I'm really not here to make anyone else happy expect myself.

In the end:

Different Anon, I don't even follow your game. IMO as long as you don't try to argue Elricest is either canon or IC for the canon characters, rock on.

I wanted to edit my reply but someone commented way to fast! x_x

Anyway this please:

Please take the time to actually READ some of my other threads in my opening post. My favorite so far is actually this one with Konoe.

Is it really Elricest/incest at all, if Ed is from the first anime and Al is from the manga/Brotherhood?

The first anime and the manga/Brotherhood might as well be different universes, so while they recognize each other as brothers, would the blood relation actually be there?

Something to think and perhaps fry one's brain, oh god over, maybe.

This is legit something Ed's been thinking about. Except for the fucking part because he doesn't want to think about fucking Al at this point in time...

Since he has met alters before (Heidreich, Nazi!Hughes, etc), he's unsure whether to consider Al his brother? But considers him his brother anyway because he's more like Al than Heidreich was? IT'S WEIRD.

what is this canon ide. these are the things that keep me up at night. only not really.

You don't have to be rude about it, since I wasn't being hostile in the slightest. :/ I'm just pointing out that they probably have as much blood relation as the Elrics and Envy do in the first anime.

While Ed and Al's subtext should probably be a LOT more guilt-filled due to the incestuous issues afloat, all I was doing was pointing out that they're probably only related by a technicality--again, like the Elrics and Envy in the first anime.

That, and it was meant to be more of a humorous comment anyway. My apologies, I thought the struck out bit made that relatively clear.

Speaking of just how related are they, here's a brain teaser.

How related are Ed and Al to the homunculi in the manga/Brohood? When you think about it, since Father is a sorta-clone of Hohopapa, and the homunculi are all part of Father, wouldn't that mean that Ed and Al share some blood with them too?

Ewwwwwwww, do not want sex with Wrath okay. Or Sloth. Or Pride.

Lust is acceptable because she's hot. Greed!Ling's okay too.

Envy, well... CAN IT HAVE SEX do we even know what gender Envy is yet.

Father can only come if he's looking like Hot!Ed.

All the rest can go home.
