well im back. i've been busy but my compy has been revived 1 wk ago and im pretty sure i re dled almost everything deleted. unfortunately now i cant find any good wireless sigs in my house. atm im trying to find a cheap price on my own internet cause this is a pain in the ass. i can always go sit in nancy's bldg since there are GREAT sigs in there ( Read more... )

that and they didnt over charge. but LOTS off ppl go in asahiya. i think location and the allowance of tachiyomi also added to it. i know/met lots of ppl wondering where the hell asahiya was. 1 work at the duane read right around the corner!
geh... i hate having to order online :( i want what i want when i want it and asahiya provided that :( x 1000000....kinokuniya sucks

my first time finding asahiya, i found the old closed dwn 1 by mistake- and that was on my way getting lost to bookoff! lol. i havent been to bkoff in a while. they're only good 4 old stuff 1 misses

Oh that sucks. Was Asahiya the one I bought most of my manga from that one time I was there? And why they are closing? Business not doing so well, the economy, etc???

LOL, you mentioning all those places made me think how I'd love to come back up there and shop in those stores. Anywho not sure about the job front. I myself am about to be out of one come the end of this year. Hoping to do something with my writing by then but thats not a gurantee. I think you should submit to Del Ray and other places since even if its project by project its better than nothing. Maybe you can even post on CL and say you do freelance jap translations for such and such.

And you know as far as internet go. Perhaps you can get a broadband USB from one of the wireless carriers or get a one line phone in the house just to get some DSL. And you can always but a wireless router or get it through the phone company. Or if you have cable just get it through them.

Good luck on landing the perfect job... I hope you do submit and get it.

yeah asahiya was the smaller 1 that ha all jp stuff. fucking fucking pain in the ass fuck! (if u havent noticed i've moved from sad to angry atm) im guessing it was lack of business. most of the jp ppl i see in there commit tachiyomi w/o buying (tachiyomi = stand n read / flip thru books / mags - get the gist n not buy) ...im totally fucked atm ( ... )

Mmm, sushi. I haven't had that in over a year, lol it'll be two come Februrary 2010. I distinctly remember the last time I had it and I think I told you about it when I was there, it wasn't too good at this place and I haven't had it since but I do want some now.

LOL, we weren't that lazy. I think we did get lots of walking, sleeping, manga binging in and since I've been so deprived of you know I didn't mind ^_^ But hopefully I will make a trip up there in the next year. I'll be heading to Boston in a couple of weeks.

And yep dsl requires phone connection, so maybe best bet might sticking to free wi-fi places or going the cable route. I think doing it through cable is suppose to be faster anyway.
