Contacts are great, though they have disadvantages. Putting them in and taking them out is a minor pain, and they tend to dry out and become irritating after 8 hours or so. On the other hand, you'll see better with contacts than you would glasses, and there are no "dead zones" around the edge of your vision...the lens (obviously) covers your entire pupil.

I've been wearing them for about 7 years, and while I'd like to get Lasik at some point, I certainly wouldn't go back to glasses.

Eh, parents get used to piercings, trust me.

I've been wearing my contacts for years, but I try not to wear them any longer than I have to, ie: I take them out when I am home for the night and not going out.

contacts = amazing. i had an eye-touching phobia until last friday when i FINALLY sucked it up and went to get them. and it's SO amazing. i already can't even tell i am wearing them. also, taking them in/out gets easier by the day...and if you don't have an astigmatism you can get high oxygen contacts that help them to not dry out. i have contacts for my astigmatism though..but they still dont rally dry up too much. putting drops in is easy though....you'll be amazed at how much better you see with them!! woooo do it!

My sister LOVES her contacts. If what you don't like about them is taking them out and putting them in, my sister's contacts are great. They are the ones you wear during the day and during the night and never take out until you replace them (about every few weeks or so). She doesn't even know she is wearing them most of the time. Absolutely amazing. If I needed glasses, I'd get contacts and I'd get those.

They are called Focus Night & Day lenses, you can check them out online first if you're interested. Yes, they are pricier than regular contacts, but still it's worth it.
