So basically I fail at LJ. Well done me for not writing anything for six months! I blame Doctor Who for being uninspiring, to be honest. I mean, there were some parts I really enjoyed (Doctor's Wife/Girl Who Waited) and some parts I really hated (River Song backstory/vanishing baby plot) but mostly it was just... meh. -_- I had no idea what else to

Yeah, you don't have to be a fan of Carth to enjoy the female storyline- the first time I played, I didn't know Carth was supposed to be important and never took him along after Taris. It was still one of the best games I ever played, and I loved the reveal that Revan was female becuase I hadn't been expecting it.

I didn't read the novel, just skimmed it, but the other major thing that bothered me was that Bastila somehow turned into a housewife. Not that there's anything wrong with that lifestyle, but it's so out of character for Bastila, and it seemed like they shoehorned her into that role simply because she was female. So yeah, I'm not thrilled with The Old Republic franchise on the gender issues front.

I agree, Kotor 2 handled it well by letting the player choose Revan's alignment and gender. Of course, with an MMO there are multiple players so I can see why that wouldn't really work out... I wish they had just set the storyline for TOR later and not mentioned Revan or the other characters at all, or only briefly with room for interpretation.

I didn't know you have to kill HK-47! HK is awesome. Wow, that's really annoying. >_
