Wow, they're all so sad! Very cool to look through though... 1/3 of it is having a good eye, 1/3 is technical skill, and 1/3 is just a question of being in the right place at the right time...
The picture for 2003 literally made me start crying.
I think it's interesting how so many of the photographers talk about battling their discomfort at intruding on the very private and poignant moments in other's lives. That's always been my problem with photography in general, even as I participate in it...that whole scopophilic/voyeuristic weirdness that motivates it.
