New job's at the heart of the financial district in Toronto. I mainly bullshitted my way through the job interview and because I didn't think I had a hope in hell of getting it, I wasn't really paying attention when they explained what I'd be doing.
I spent the entire day Christmas shopping and I'm not fucking finished.
I don't mind shopping under the following two conditions: one, that I have money (currently I don't); two, that I have a good sense of what I'm out to get (today I didn't).
I love giving gifts, but I find a lot of people extraordinarily difficult to buy for. I also love to buy myself stuff, but doing that at Christmas makes me feel like an asshole.
Come right out and ask people if they know of anybody hiring and if they'd do you a favour by scoring you a job interview. Oh, and always stay buds with your former co-workers via e-mail 'cause the more they like you, the more they're willing to help you out later on.
Yeah, I love buying myself gifts, too. =) I bought myself a military-style jacket yesterday, that everyone seems to hate. I love it, though.
Well that's not the answer I wanted to hear at all. I wanted you to tell me that "just being smarter than everyone will eventually land you the gig of your dreams, patience young grasshopper." I agree with your tip though, alas, knowing people is how I've fallen into just about every job I've ever had.
It took everything in me not to buy myself a jacket (a vest, really) and bag at MEC while I was shopping. I caved at the mall and bought a couple shirts, though, but it was at Old Navy and I tell myself that doesn't count (why? I dunno, but it doesn't).
Oh my God...if something's on sale or if it's cheap, I don't count those at all. I tell myself I'm getting a bargin and that I'd be stupid to pass up on the opportunity to save money in the long run.
Plus, buying things tends to fill up the empty space in my soul. =)
Hmmm...I tried writing in a journal, and it didn't work for me. My handwriting is pretty much chicken scratch. Thus, with Livejournal, I can read it later. Yet, I don't proofread it either, so whoever reads it may think I'm some newbie to the English language. Sardonicasshole says,"You're lucky I'm your friend and I can understand you. If not, I would have thought you were a complete moron." I tend to leave out certain articles necessary to make a sentence ie the, periods, commas, and what nots. These articles get in the way.

That's interesting...Oh, wait I see your point. ;) Comment whoring is not a bad thing, especially if the comment is given to a boring post, as it will inject life into it. A boring post will invite a boring comment & that comment, in turn, will be fun to be ridiculed about, by yet another comment.

I didn't say comment whoring is a bad thing. It's just that, these people don't tend to comment on the posts that you'd really like them to comment on.
I hate Christmas shopping which leads me to put it off until the very last minute and then I'm forced to battle the crowds to get my shopping done which makes me hate Christmas shopping even more. It's a vicious cycle, I tell you
