to know that it's possible.

i got lost in thrown punches, dance-like steps, and swinging sticks. i tried to look at the sun so i could become blind. but then i had to drive back home (i listened to country music).

the love is there, whenever you need it.

im sorry about your grandfather
theres nothing i can do to make it right, or even make it feel better. i'm no good at that anymore. i can still listen i suppose, whenever you need me. if i had a cell phone or wasnt going to be away for the next week and a half, that might actually be true.
the only advice i can give may sound weird, but it makes all the difference:
at the end of the wake, or before the funeral, at some time when the family all says goodbye, when it's kind of private, some people may pat his arm or something. kiss him on the cheek. if i was there, i would hug you after you do it. you will feel better, maybe not right away, but at some point, knowing that you gave him a proper goodbye. everyone i know who's ever kissed a love one goodbye was glad they did it.
i love you jackie, and im sorry about your grandfather
