I had an amazing revelation today: I can speak Spanish.
Yes, this is a bit of an obvious one, as it's my major, and it's a language I've studied for over five years. But while I can read and write in it decently, I'm intimidated by speaking. Esecially with native speakers.

I had a moment like that once: I was taking high school French, and we had a French native student visiting with our class for a couple of sessions. I ran across her in the grounds during lunchtime, in front of a couple of my friends, and chatted with her - badly - about photographs. My friends were amazed. 'Wow, you can really speak French!' - 'No I can't -' wait... Although my French grammar was pretty poor, I'd been able to get my meaning across, and suddenly I saw it from their perspective: me jabbering away competently in a language they didn't undersand.
Sadly, I have never again been that fluent in any secondary language.
But you will continue to get more fluent! Yay you!
