I can't say I've noticed this. But I'm not sure if it's because I rarely buy coffee in stores- and when I do, it's not decaf- or if it's just something that never occurred to me-- like that odd numbered highways go north-to-south while even numbered ones go east-to-west. Next time I'm in the store, I'm going to make it a point to notice.
Check it out. There will be a line of 5 or so types of Folger's or Maxwell's including a dark-roast, a few different nut varieties, and one with vanilla or cinnamon in the name, in addition to the "classic roast." Then there will be one half-caf, and one decaf. Both are usually a medium roast with no special flavor. Just plain coffee.
