what's the first thing people ask you when you say you can't smell?

#1 response: "Oh, you're sick?"

Followed by, "But you can still taste, right?" I just compare it to being color-blind: Yes, I can taste but -- like color-blind people -- I cannot enjoy the experience to its full extent. However, since I've never been able to smell, I don't taste a difference.

Usually about tasting. Sometimes people will hold something up to my nose and say "You'll smell THIS!" It's getting to be more funny than irritating.

actually I get "are you sure?"

like I never really thought it through or something...followed by the demanding...."here smell this!" "could you smell that?"
and I don't know why...but I always respond with "kinda" even though I can't at all. It's weird.
