IC Information:
Name: Yoite
Fandom: Nabari no Ou
Timeline: Yoite is going to be taken from after Chapter 30 of the manga, during the events at Alya.
Age: 16
Appearance: At 5'11" and 115 pounds, Yoite (right) is a tall, pale-ass boy, unhealthily thin. Even in stiflingly hot temperatures, he is always wearing long sleeves and layers, generally the same outfit or some similar alternative - black slacks, black shoes, a thick turtleneck sweater, and the same double-breasted pea coat, tied in the back. He is constantly wearing the same tan hat, jammed down over his eyes, as well as similarly colored suede gloves. He has scraggly, black hair that constantly hangs in his face, as well as startlingly blue eyes that are generally hidden under the brim of his hat. His features are also very delicate and feminine, constantly being referred to as 'girly' and 'beautiful', despite his generally haggard appearance.

Because of Yoite's Kira, some of his skin is mottled, with black speckles - likely gangrene - starting to accumulate. This is on his hands, and slowly making its way up his arms. There are also a few patches on his stomach and back, and dusting of it on his thighs. There are also some stretch marks left over from his puberty, scattered around, mostly on his arms, legs, and the sides of his torso. Additionally, Yoite has a long, deep scar on the left side of his neck that looks as if it were from an old knife wound. This is all largely why he wears such heavy layers, constantly.

Should anyone be interested in knowing, regarding the issue addressed in Chapter 47 of the manga, Yoite's ambiguous gender, I'm linking to a separate post, here. It's not really need to know - I'm not even sure if it will ever come up - but I figured I'd include it, just in case.

Abilities: Yoite utilizes a skill called "kira," which is a forbidden knowledge of kinjitsu. Essentially, it focuses the user's lifeforce, injecting it into the victim's body and allowing the user to manipulate the other person's ki. This can lead from everything to broken bones to ruptured organs, lacerations, anything, so long as it starts as internalized, all depending on how much lifeforce the user employs. It also has the ability to heal - likely, knit together broken bones, stop severe bleeding, and he has even redirected blood flow in a person to wake them from a coma, canonly.

However, this obviously comes with some consequences. It disrupts the ki in the user's body, sometimes warping physical properties - for instance, Yoite didn't experience any symptoms of puberty until he was sixteen, and when he did, all of his growth was contained in a space of three days rather than over a few years as it normally should. It causes deterioration when used enough. Yoite is basically falling apart - organ failure, hair falling out, loss of the five senses (thus far, he has last his sense of taste, as well as exhibiting cloudy vision and hearing difficulties), hands and feet are dusky with gangrene and rot, etc.

Yoite also employs minimal martial arts skill. He usually relies on Kira, since his body is too weak to bear too much physical exertion for too long, but he is capable of fighting.

Personality: A vast majority of what shapes Yoite as a person is in how he was raised - he was never given guidance or encouragement as a child, locked away from most of anyone else in the world. He lived in his books rather than actual people, and everything he has learned is essentially from those books. He therefore has a very misguided sense of what is 'right' or 'wrong', and finds himself unable to answer even simple questions: 'how are you?', 'would you like to eat?', 'what are you?'.

While growing up, it was constantly enforced what a monster he was, what a waste of life, and, as such, he has transcended any general feelings of worthlessness that may accompany someone who is very deeply and clinically depressed. Yoite has absolutely no desire to 'get better', or even to merely die; he considers himself to be a true mistake in this world, one that needs to be corrected. He honestly thinks that the world would be a better place, had he never existed in it. His goal is to erased off the surface of this planet, forever, no harm done, and he's very stubborn and hard-headed in achieving this.

He is a very clinical kind of person, seeing little regard for human life, even going so far as to torture a delivery boy for so much as saying that he had a 'cute face'. The way he views it, once he is erased, these useless deaths will be as well anyway. Because he invests such little stock in his own worth, he views attachments are arbitrary - helping him is 'useless' and a waste of time, and thus there is no reason to be friendly with anyone. He is similarly very anxious around crowds of people, seeking out corners and darker places in order to escape them. He can't stand to be touched.

History: So far as Yoite is concerned, his first act on this world wasn't as simple as blinking, crying, breathing. It was murder. His mother died during childbirth, and when the little girl his parents had always wanted was born 'malformed', intersexed, there was an easy outlet for the blame. Sora Koudou was the name his parents had decided on, if he had been born a girl. It was the name he was given, regardless. Sora wasn't raised as a boy, or as a girl. Sora didn't consider himself either gender, or even a person. He was an 'it'.

His body had always been some kind of deep, dark secret, something he didn't quite understand and didn't want to put a name to. Sora was mainly kept in his room in the basement, a simple, plain room, stacked with books upon books upon books. He buried himself in them, so that he didn't have to face whatever he was in actuality. He wasn't allowed to really communicate with anyone - even his younger half-brother was told not to speak with 'that child', 'he's a ghost'.

It was constantly reinforced, in his youth, that he was a 'shinigami', or a 'death god', the one who had killed his mother. With colorful compliments like these - 'useless', 'worthless' - Sora started reverting to the same beliefs. He kept quiet, neat and tidy, and kept out of everyone's way, lest he cause more useless drama for anyone involved.

In the move to another house, not wanting to deal with Sora anymore, his family had gotten it in their heads that it was time to 'deal' with matters. When he was fourteen, there was an attempted murder. Sora's throat was slit open, ear to chin, and the knife was given to his half-brother, Tsukasa, who was told to finish the job. Tsukasa couldn't, and ran from the room, screaming, causing enough distraction that Sora could escape. He was found in the street, bleeding profusely, and treated at a nearby hospital. Nobody knew where he had come from, or even what his name was.

For whatever fucked up reason creepy guys have, Tojuro Hattori, Sora's savior, saw opportunity within this young boy. Sora had shared with him everything, his past, his feelings. His goals. Hattori had been pursuing the Shinrabanshou, and needed aid in achieving his goal - Kira, a deadly kinjutsu that could kill... but slowly drained the lifeforce of the user. He promised Sora that, if he were to join his group, the Kairoushou (or 'Grey Wolves'), and learn this ability, 'kira', for the group, when Hattori obtained the Shinrabanshou, a great and terrible power that had nearly infinite limits, that he would grant Sora his wish, and erase him.

Sora agreed, and spent several years training.

Kira is operated by injecting one's own 'ki', or lifeforce, into the body of another. The ki is then manipulated, and the results are nearly limitless. Kira can break bones, cause lacerations, remove limbs, cause severe physiological trauma - even, as the name 'kira', or 'killer', suggests, kill. There is evidence of deep internal bleeding being caused, twisted Greenstick fractures, and even people being ripped in half from the power of it.

The downside is that, by injecting his ki into others, he is slowly draining his own. This skill is going to slowly kill him. Even by merely learning the skill, from the training and practice, his ki is so severely mangled that, at the age of sixteen, he was still as small as he'd been when he'd joined the Kairoushou.

He was placed into the care of a young man and aspiring writer in the Kairoushou, Kazuhiko Yukimi, who, at first glance, certainly had no interest in caring for a young boy, particularly one so deeply strange as this one was. Sora didn't speak, he didn't make eye contact, he didn't even have a name that anybody in the Kairoushou knew - Hattori told Yukimi not to even bother, as he wouldn't be with them long. Sora merely sat in the corner, hugging his knees, refusing to interact with anyone outside of himself.

The growth spurt had to come at some point. He finally did grow, his puberty suddenly occurring within the span of days, instead of over years as it's meant to, because of the damage he had done to his ki already. Yukimi described the figure he saw as a 'monster'. Sora's bones lengthened, his hair grew, his skin stretched. He spent three days writhing in pain, and came out at the end as something barely passable as human, skin and bones and not much else. He was force-fed, in scheduled amounts, to try to fatten him up after the whole ordeal. To this day, it's why he eats so much and so constantly, if not merely because of the practice of feeding his body and staving off the effects of the Kira for longer.

Whether he was getting attached or merely expressing pity for the child, Yukimi declared it useless that Sora didn't have a name to be called. He cycled through names, only stopping on 'Yoite', the name of a cat he'd once had, when Sora spoke the first substantial words that he had since he'd arrived in that house - that name, 'Yoite', 'a wind at night', over and over.

Sora became Yoite. Yoite became a monster.

With the appearance of the Shinrabanshou in a young boy, Miharu Rokujou, Yoite started coming up with his own ulterior plans, while still following in concordance with the Kairoushou's given missions. In Fuuma Village, when the Kairoushou were stealing one of the Kinjutsushos, secret scrolls containing information that would aid them in further understanding the Shinrabanshou, they came across Miharu, the Shinrabanshou himself. After a fight with those protecting him, leaving several wounded, Fuuma's reinforcements arrived. Yoite fled.

Soon after, he showed up in Banten, Miharu's home village. He left Miharu's friends, Kouichi and Raimei, for unconscious, taking Miharu captive. He took Miharu to his safe haven, a set of abandoned train cars, to ask Miharu to fulfill his one wish - to be erased completely off this Earth. He was keeping Miharu's loved ones captive by means of their ki, and threatened to kill each and every one, were Miharu not to follow his orders.

Miharu agreed. Yoite let Miharu back home, safe, and returned to Yukimi's. Yukimi informed him that he didn't care whatever trouble Yoite got into, so long as he hadn't killed the Shinrabanshou. When demanding Yoite answer whether he had, in fact, injured Miharu or not, Yoite merely asked Yukimi if he was alive. He wondered when he would get to see Miharu again.

Unable to wait much longer to allow that chance to come to its own fruition, he took matter into his own hands, returning to Banten again, to see Miharu. The trip was long, and such repetitive strain was doing a number on him. He collapsed in the street, found by Hanabusa Seki, Thobari Kumohira's girlfriend, and was brought back to their shared residence (coincidentally, where Miharu was staying as well), without Hana's knowing who Yoite was, or what possible danger she could have brought unto herself.

Despite Thobari's complaints, she invited Yoite to stay, and he and Miharu took the opportunity to break off from the group, to further discuss their plans. Miharu, attempting to incite trust from the other boy, offered Yoite his hand. Yoite refused. Hana so wasn't having that, and had them shake hands, and it was magical, for approximately 0.2 seconds. Yoite's fear of being touched took over and he quickly fled, stubbornly attempting to cement the idea that he and Miharu were not friends, that Miharu was simply obligated to help him, and nothing else.

Miharu took it upon himself to switch tactics, running away from home and meeting up with Yoite, where the two could retain a shorter distance between them. In doing so, it allowed him and Yoite to plan together more easily, and for trust to blossom more readily between the two... under two conditions. The first was that, were Miharu to truly erase Yoite, Yoite had to promise not to harm his friends, and to release them from his hold once Yoite's plans were set in motion. The second was a promise: until Miharu erased Yoite, Yoite was not allowed to die. Despite Yoite's efforts, Miharu was finding himself attached.

Miharu brought one of the scrolls to the Kairoushou to show that he was serious and honest about wanting to join their ranks. He made a promise to Hattori, leader of the Kairoushou, that the Shinrabanshou would be his once it they discovered how to remove it from Miharu's body, knowing full well that he and Yoite were to keep to their ulterior motive.

It was after this that the Kairoushou took a mission at Alya Academy, a village of ninjas hidden within a school, much like Banten. They successfully infiltrated the school, with Shijima as their guide. Yoite very quickly has his own ideas, wanting this mission to be over and done with as quickly as possible, and after him and Yukimi fight with each other, he storms off somewhere into the school.

Yoite is taken from here, within a short time of their mission beginning.

Roleplay Sample - Log: There were many children here, their voices loud and echoing throughout the high-vaulted ceilings of this school. The noises bounced off the walls, they ricocheted and rattled and possibly bruised, with mere statements. Yoite could feel himself cringing as he stalked his way down the hallway. His head was bent, and his hat was jammed down very firmly over his eyes. It was rude to wear hats indoors, a fact that Yukimi was very quick to remind Yoite, often.

This should have been quicker. This should have been an in and out case, over and done with, were he allowed to kill anyone here. Were they not so obsessed with their sneakiness, and covert infiltration. There was no need for such arbitrary... silliness. Public relations, and costumes. This tie was uncomfortable, a floppy bow that kept brushing against his chin. He missed the safety of his turtleneck. He missed-- he missed.

"Are you lost?"

The girl was young, her hair in twin braids. Her smile was warm and friendly. Yoite was immediately resentful of her, and shook his head very abruptly, without ceasing in his brisk pace across the foyer.

"Are you sure? This school is big, and a lot of our guests need help finding their way around."

He didn't need her help. He didn't want her help. "I don't need your help," he repeated half of his thoughts allowed, a warning tone harsh and ready in his tone, but the edge didn't come across so easily with a voice so soft, so wobbly with disuse.

"Are you sure?"

He jerked his arm away before her hand could land at the crook of his elbow, nearly tripping over his own feet in his haste to get away from this girl, this helpful, cherubic girl. This wretched, unearthly girl. "Don't touch me," his voice came out in a sharp hiss, as his pace picked up, with a small hop-skip, that evolved into a jog, a run, a sprint as he ran away from her, quickly. Putting as much space as he could between himself and her stupid little pigtails.

[Several lines of text like this follow, seemingly without end, when suddenly the video feature flickers over. There are no words from the boy onscreen, just wide blue eyes that are entirely too close to the camera, dark hair a bit harried and tangled as it hangs freely in his face. Yoite squints an eye, as if it will better help him understand how to use this foreign object.]

I don't... Phone...

[He leans back again, and the camera tilts askew, showing naught but the buttons of his trench coat and gloved thumbs pressing mindlessly at the buttons. The video flashes off, to just voice, then to video, then more garbled text, then to voice again.]

Technology. Yukimi. Yukimi and-- his phones. Phone. It doesn't work.

[Finally a pause, a blissful pause of silence.]

[Which is shortly followed by thwacking noises, possibly of someone smacking the 'berry against the nearest solid surface, in the hopes of making it work for him. This continues for a good fifteen to twenty seconds, before the feed sharply cuts off.]

Questions? Comments? Crazed and creative statements? Those go here.
Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Skeet skeet muthafucka!

ALSO. Yoite is on different meds - a prescription for his heart and another for pain pills. Would he at least be having the heart meds here? I don't know about the pain meds though :|a
