If it's not one thing, it's another. It's a good thing I don't mind working holidays. If anyone notices anything strange, tell myself or another officer. The engine is the top priority, but we'll make sure it gets investigated.

Sir, I've been in the engine room now for several hours, but I can't say I'm finding anything concretely wrong. Mechanically, everything's in top shape. But there's definitely something going on, and on my word, I will get to the bottom of it! I will provide a full report as soon as I have one.

And, I've not found any evidence of it, but . . . if someone did let some animal into my engine or pipes, I'll be helping you hang them over the rail. Sir.

We're losing power, I can tell that much. [sighs] Perhaps I should come down there. I'm not so skilled with mechanics, but maybe I could help find something.

I don't really think it's that likely myself, but I don't know what else would explain some of the reports I've been seeing.
